Chris Bennett's works are primarily human figures and animal wildlife, classically rendered. Since his works emphasize the importance of relationships, he carefully observes the psyche and physical interactions of his subjects, whether people or wildlife, in order to capture the universality of life. Several of his works are displayed throughout Iowa, since he has completed over 50 public commissions, numerous private commissions, and small reproductions. In addition to teaching numerous classes and workshops throughout Iowa and the Midwest for over 30 years, he has presented slide lectures, and demonstrations, as well as being a participant in exhibits.
His experiences include an artist exchange in Japan, and researching and interviewing artists in Yugoslavia, through a grant. Chris owns and operates Bennett Studios in Bentonsport. He will be teaching the Sculpture classes.
