Understanding Plein Air Painting
Instructor: Spencer Meagher
A brief introduction and discussion of the days events begins the workshop. The class will focus on composition and design in a plein air setting. How to simplify your composition by editing out unwanted clutter, focusing on large shapes and abbreviated values.
Because we are focusing on plein air this class is not medium specific. Watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel.....all are welcome. Spencer will gladly assist each student in the medium they are comfortable with.
Anticipate completing one painting course of this one day workshop.
Soft spoken in his critical analysis of each students work, Spencer builds student confidence by pointing out the strengths and weaknesses in each piece and by offering suggestions for improvement.
