Cyanotype is a traditional photographic printing process resulting in dark blue imagery It has been around since the early 1800s and remains an inexpensive way to print photographs. It does not require a dark room or any camera equipment. This printing process is also known for nature prints. Nature prints are created by collecting items such as leaves and flowers, then arranging them on paper to print a negative image.
In this class we will discuss materials, the process and how to create successful prints. We will use nature items such as leaves and botanicals to create one of a kind easter eggs that have a sense of yesteryear!
Join others as they gather in the Villages of Van Buren to learn from the resident artisans in their personal studios. Spend a weekend plein air painting along the Des Moines River, or step back in time as you throw bowls in a Pottery Shop. The inspiring and relaxing atmosphere of scenic Van Buren County, Iowa is, and will continue to be, a haven for creative beings.
