"Paint The Fair" a plein air competition

Contest rules:
 
Contest is open to anyone 18 years and older. 
Artist can enter TWO Framed pieces for judging that were created between Thursday at 7am and Friday at 4pm, but all works can be displayed & available for purchase. 10% of each sale will proceed Villages Folk School, a non-profit organization.
 
Contestants must pre-register online at VillagesFolkSchool.com by Friday July 17, 2020.  $40 entry fee covers both days of the event. 
On-site registration Thursday/22nd & Friday/23rd from 7-8:00am under the Van Buren County Fairgrounds grandstands. Canvases stamped and goody bags with maps handed out at registration. If you need to register at another time, you must contact Mel at 641-919-7323 and set up a time in advance.
 
All pieces must be created between 7am Thursday July 22nd and 4pm Friday July 23rd.
Thursday is open to all of Van Buren County. This years theme is "Blue Skies & Back Roads". Artists are invited to discover the lesser traveled scenic back roads of the county. Night time painting is encouraged.
We request that Friday painting takes place on the fairgrounds. Of coarse artists are invited to paint both days on the fairgrounds.
 
Bring your own supplies: Easel, canvas, paper, paints, pastels, frame, eyelets & wire for hanging, etc. 
 
Award Ceremony & Exhibit will be Friday at 5 pm. 
-Artists must bring their ready to hang framed works to the grandstand area before 4:30pm on Friday for judging.
-Your two submissions for judging need to be framed with horizontal wire for hanging. 
-Additional pieces for sale can just have a horizontal wire for hanging. Pieces will hang from a single hook on the wall.
-Award Ceremony & Exhibit will be under the grandstand 5pm Friday evening. All works released at approx. 7pm.

List of Purchase Prizes will be posted closer to event.
