Two-Day Intensive Workshop. You are invited to participate in our "Beginning Rug Weaving Workshop". This course will cover all aspects of rug weaving. Participants will make their own rug to take home and will be guided through the entire process from setting up the loom, material sourcing, weaving processes, and finishing your product. The course begins Saturday morning with weaving nomenclature and end Sunday afternoon as you tie the ends of your completed rug. The courses are structured so that you will be actively engaged in each part of the weaving process. Among the techniques you will learn are: loom warping, loom stringing, preparation of materials for weaving, rug weaving and rug finishing.
This is the perfect workshop if you own a loom, are looking to start a rug weaving business or needing a refresher course on the entire process.
Location: Teri's Weaving Studio. 22353 Smith St. Keosauqua, IA 52565 (in the historic village of Vernon, across the Des Moines River from Bentonsport. Approxinately 6 miles east of Keosauqua just off J40).

Notes: Four different looms are available in the studio where the instructor and her assistants weave by hand. There is a 3 student minimum for this class. Students make rugs in various sizes and colors. Placemats, mug rugs, and table runners are also turned out by their flying fingers. This large assortment is available at the Iron & Lace shop. Food is available in Bentonsport, Keosauqua, Bonaparte, or bring a bag lunch.
