Two-Color Brioche Technique

Brioche knitting is a simple multicolor technique that creates a reversible fabric with a rib texture. In the morning the students will make a swatch to learn the basics of two color brioche. Italian two-color cast on and bind off, correcting mistakes, abbreviations and symbols will be included. In the afternoon they will learn to knit brioche in the round and start a brioche cowl.
Class size: limited to 8 students
Experience level: intermediate
Class time: 4 hours
Students should bring:
For the swatch:
2 colors of worsted weight yarn (approx. 100 yards wound into a ball), US#5 straight or 16-24” circular needles.
For the cowl:
2 skeins each of 2 colors of Big Bad Wool* (380 yards total wound into 4 balls) or 1 skein each of 2 colors of Ultra Alpaca worsted weight* (430 yards total wound into 2 balls) US#6 24” circular needles.
Stitch markers appropriate for your needles, scissors and crochet hook size B or C. Bring a pen or pencil for taking notes on your handouts.
