Class List > Textile & Wood > Knitting Kitty
Instructor: Renee Robison
This class is designed to teach people who already know how to knit on two needles to learn how to knit a small ball on four double pointed needles. This involves a lot of dexterity, so no children please. This class is about one hour long, with knitting time after to finish if students wish. What you will learn IN the class! We will be making one knitted wool ball and stuffing it. Recipes for catnip cologne will also be shared – and you will receive your own bottle of cologne to spray your ball with to further entice your kitty! You can make many more after you’ve learned how! How to cast onto three needles and join the yarn into a circle How to increase and decrease stitches row by row to form a ball. How to stuff your ball with poly fiber or scraps before completing your ball. How to tie off the ends and directions to finish the ball in the washer – felting it into kitty approved fuzziness!
Time: 9:00am - Noon
Note: Teachers will provide wool scraps and double pointed needles that you can use. If you wish to bring your own yarn and/or needles, you may do so! Size 5, 6, or 7 double pointed needles will be used. Teachers will have all other supplies you need! Jingle bells – Catnip – Darning needles.
